Late as ever my beer related New Year resolutions for 2008 are as follows:
- Avoid Johnnie Walker like the plague.
- Continue regular consumption of all kinds of Beer Lao.
- Follow through on plans to visit the People’s Democratic Republic of Laos and make sure to leave with as much Beer Lao Dark in my suitcase and carry on as physically possible.
- Encourage the masses to rise up and boycott the Thai beer monopoly.
- Promote freedom and democracy for Burma as a means of increasing international availability of Beer Myanmar.

Why not quit drinking?
Just an FYI: Earlier this month, I was in Zurich, Switzerland for two days, at the tail end of a few weeks in East Africa. I was hungry for some Thai food, so I went to a Thai restaurant, the Blue Monkey. The food was very good (a mussel soup and chicken penang), but the highlight was that they had Beer Lao! I hadn't drunk that beer since I had been to Laos four years previous. Very enjoyable indeed.
Good to hear Beerlao is continuing its well-deserved world domination!
Interesting that it is probably easier to get Beerlao in a Thai restaurant in Switzerland than in Thailand though.....
